About the LIC
The LIC has served its members for nearly 100 years. Over that century, we have been a stalwart defender of the rights of small and medium size insurers selling to the underserved market. Consequently, the LIC has had traditional ties to many home service, pre-need and final expense insurance companies.
The New LIC is so much more. It has embarked on a new mission. While we will continue to represent our traditional members, we have embraced a broader focus. The LIC plans to be the premier trade association for all small and medium size companies, regardless of distribution systems. Our goals include our traditional role as a watch guard for legal and regulatory threats to your business. But the New LIC's goal is to provide you with information and solutions that address the business objective that is every member's number one priority:
Leading your company to PROFITABILITY.
-
The
scope of the LIC is expanding, making it a source for programs and
information that helps member companies grow their profitability, through
positive and proactive changes in their business model and practices.
-
We are well-placed as a division of LOMA to provide you with the latest information on industry best practices.
-
The
LIC will be a source for solutions to a member's business problems.
-
The
LIC will continue to function as a significant source for networking and we are actively exploring opportunities for this important activity.

The LIC and LOMA
The Life Insurers Council (LIC) was founded
in 1910 to promote the
interests of member companies and their policyowners.
In 1997, the LIC merged with LOMA, which
added extensive benefits for all LIC members. All LIC members can take advantage
of resources available to LOMA members, including committee membership,
information resources, and discounted fees on workshops, conferences and
education programs.
Membership and Access
LIC membership is open to any insurer.
Affiliate membership is available to non-insurance companies which provide a
service or product to the life insurance industry.
LOMA members and their subsidiaries can utilize the many benefits LIC has to offer by paying an access
fee ($500 for US life members, $100 for affiliate and international members).

which includes news and analysis about issues of concern to executives and those involved in
operations, plus information on upcoming events and company activities.
Committees -- LIC committees share information on various aspects of the insurance and financial services business and explore ways of developing and improving their methods of operation and management.
LIC Directory -- published online.
Access to information -- surveys, reports
and industry publications are just part of the resources available to LIC
